Tirat Carmel won the "Beauty Flag" in the "Beautiful and Sustainable City 2024" competition, organized by the Council for a Beautiful Israel. The flag was awarded to the city after it won all points in stage one of the competition.
"Beautiful and Sustainable Neighborhood" is an annual competition for quality of life and a sustainable environment, held in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior, the Center for Local Government, and the Center for Regional Councils. As part of the competition, municipalities and local and regional councils are examined, addressing issues of the local space, public service facilities, public areas, environmentally sensitive public service centers, and environmental quality.
Tirat Carmel receives the highest rating
Tirat Carmel has been participating in the competition since 2013, winning the highest ranking every year. In 2022, the city won the "Decade of Excellence" shield for ten consecutive years of winning five beauty stars.
The "Beauty Flag" was awarded on Wednesday, 12/2/25, to Mayor Dudu Cohen in a festive ceremony held at the Council for a Beautiful Israel building in Tel Aviv in the presence of Interior Minister MK Moshe Arbel. Also participating in the ceremony were Mayor and Deputy Mayor Amy Afomedo; Deputy Mayor and Shefa Portfolio Holder Kfir Ovadia; and Director of the Environmental Quality Section in the Shefa Division, Hagit Amiga.
