Dozens of ninth-grade students and their parents participated in an evening of exposure to the RNG program to encourage science and technology studies led by Rafael: "Investing in the future generation of female engineers"
For the first time, as part of Rafael's community activities and in collaboration with the Tirat Carmel Municipality, the company will adopt the city and promote technological activities for middle and high school students. As part of the activity, technological workshops, the prestigious RNG program, and other technological activities will be held throughout the school year.
This week (19/1/25-23/1/25) an evening of exposure for the RNG (Rafael Next Generation) program was held, attended by dozens of ninth grade students and their parents from the two middle schools in Tirat Carmel. The goal of the program is to arouse curiosity and strengthen the students' choice of studying science and technology in preparation for the transition to high school.
The meeting was opened by the Mayor, Dudu Cohen; Senior VP of the Rafael's REMO Division, Amit Zimmer; Senior VP of the Manor Division at Rafael, Dr. Shai Rahimi; and Head of the Rafael Technology Area, Dr. A. Afterwards, the students participated in interactive activity stations led by leading engineers and scientists from Rafael, and were exposed to groundbreaking technologies developed by the company and the possibilities of integrating into the world of scientific and technological employment in the future, and in various professions including researchers, scientists, chemists, as well as the space and optics professions.
Mayor of Carmel Castle, Dodo Cohen:
I welcome the fruitful collaboration with Rafael, which is a real opportunity for the city's students to experience the practical worlds of advanced technology and science in the world. The Unit for Excellence programs, which are held in all public schools in the city, arouse curiosity among many students in the city, who, following their participation in them, choose to invest in the field, integrate into academic studies in high-tech and technology - and fulfill the dreams and goals they have set for themselves.
As part of its extensive corporate responsibility activities, Rafael has set itself the goal of fostering and enhancing scientific and technological education among youth, with special emphasis on those living in the northern region. Since the RNG program was launched more than a decade ago, more than 2,000 female students from the northern region have participated in it.
Senior Vice President of the RNG at Rafael, Amit Zimmer: "Rafael is proud to promote technological education in cooperation with the Tirat Carmel Municipality and other authorities in its vicinity, and to increase the number of schools in the high-quality RNG program every year, and even more so in a year of war like this. Rafael serves as a unique pillar, not only as a significant pillar in the country's security, but also as an engine of socio-economic growth. Over the years, we have seen the great inspiration that the students receive in meeting with the directors and developers at Rafael, and investing in them is actually an investment in the future generation of engineers who will integrate into Rafael."
