University of Haifa: In an exciting ceremony, scholarships and awards were awarded to outstanding legal scholars in the name of the late Attorney Yosef Fattal

The exciting ceremony of awarding scholarships and an award to an outstanding researcher in legal research was held last night (Tuesday, 21/1/2025) in the Silverstein Building at the University of Haifa, named after the late Attorney Yosef Fattal, father of David Fattal. In the meantime, we note that David Fattal is the owner of the "Fattal Hotel Chain" and is a graduate and friend of the University of Haifa.

The awards and scholarships were awarded for the twelfth time this year. The Award for Excellence in Legal Research is given annually to an outstanding researcher in a different legal field.

The event was attended by, participated in, and congratulated the award winners by Prof. Gur Elroy, President of the University of Haifa, Prof. Tal Zharsky, Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Haifa, and David Fattal, Founder and CEO of the Fattal Group, as a representative of the Fattal family.

During the event, the Outstanding Researcher Award was presented to the 2021-2022 award winners:

Dr. Arian Renen-Barzilai, University of Haifa, "Challenges of Equality in the Mixed World of Work"
Prof. Hila Shamir, Tel Aviv University, “Supply Chains and Workers’ Rights: The Future of Labor Law”

The 2022-2023 award winner: Prof. Orna Eligon Der, Sapir Academic College, “From the Pre-Modern World to the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Towards an Epistemological Turnaround.”

Winner of the 2023-2024 Prize: Dr. Sivan Shlomo-Agon, Bar-Ilan University, “(International) Law in an Age of Acceleration.”

During the ceremony, the scholarships were awarded to the winners, with the ceremony being presided over by a rabbi and the event's tasteful moderator, Prof. Tal Zharsky, Dean of the Faculty of Law.
