(Hai Fa, initial report) – This morning (Tuesday, 21/1/25) a network collecting sponsorship fees was exposed by the police – dozens of suspects were arrested.
The police told Lai Pa:
An undercover police agent who was infiltrated into the world of protection money collection by the central unit of the Coastal District, operated for an entire year and led to the arrest of dozens of suspects. This is a unique and unprecedented operation, in which the agent – a police officer from the Yachabal unit of Lahav 433 – operated among senior criminals, some of whom are affiliated with criminal organizations and gangs. Over the years, these suspects have collected tens of millions of shekels from unsuspecting construction contractors for alleged "guarding and security" services at construction sites.
The visible phase
This morning, after the agent's operation ended, the police arrested 27 suspects and exposed the network of shell companies that were operated as part of their activities. For the first time, the police exposed a branched network that operated in the Coastal and Northern Districts, collecting sponsorship fees from building contractors, while harming hundreds of victims.

The suspects allegedly operated in an organized manner, dividing up geographic areas among themselves, taking over construction site projects, and approaching contractors with an “offer” for guarding and security services for their construction sites and equipment. Payment, which was transferred to designated bank accounts, was collected for services that were not actually provided. In cases where the victims refused to pay, they later discovered that serious damage had been done to their construction sites.
The case includes offenses of collecting sponsorship fees, money laundering, conspiracy to commit a crime and tax offenses. The investigation, which was conducted covertly for the past year, took place in close cooperation between the central unit of the Coastal District and other agencies, including the National Unit for the Investigation of Serious and International Crime (Yachbal) and the National Unit for Combating Economic Crime (Yalek) at Lahav 433, the Tax Authority - Income Tax and the State Attorney's Office, Haifa District.
During the night, extensive arrest activity took place, in which police officers and detectives from the Coastal District, the Northern District, and the Border Guard Tactical Division took part. The forces raided the suspects' apartments and made the arrests.
On behalf of attorneys Tamir Calderon and Rami Zoabi, from the firm of Doron, Tikotsky, Kantor, Gutman & Co., who represent a suspect connected to one of the suspected security companies, it is alleged:
"We regret that the name of our client and the suspected security company has been implicated in an affair that has nothing to do with him at all. This is a respectable citizen who has a reputation for being someone who strictly follows the law and has never been accused of any crime. Beyond the fact that our client categorically rejects the suspicions leveled against him, he is convinced that in the coming days the police investigators will realize the extent of their mistake and will realize that he is not guilty. Our client believes with complete faith that the investigation into his case will end without incident and that he will quickly return to his family and his routine."
When a reward comes, then a reward for a good job is due.
