(haipo) – Coastal District police at the Zebulon station uncovered a drug production laboratory in a residential area in Kiryat Yam, containing approximately 2,200 marijuana plants weighing a total of 93 kg. The suspects in its operation, Kiryat Yam residents aged 64 and 33, were detained for questioning.

As part of an operation conducted by Zevulun police, the officers, acting on a search warrant, uncovered a drug laboratory containing approximately 2,200 seedlings weighing a total of approximately 93 kg, suspected of being cannabis, which were grown under laboratory conditions inside a residential apartment, as well as extensive equipment suspected of being used for cultivation.
In another operation, the police conducted a police raid on a private home in the city of Kiryat Yam, where a substance suspected of being a marijuana-type drug, a substance suspected of being a dosa-type drug, scooters suspected of being stolen, over 90 electronic cigarettes containing a substance suspected of being a marijuana-type drug, and dozens of gun bullets were discovered. According to suspicion, the drugs seized were intended for distribution.
As mentioned, the police arrested the suspects in operating the laboratory for questioning, residents of Kiryat Yam, aged 64 and 33, and at the end of the investigation, they were imprisoned.
Depending on the needs of the investigation and its findings, the police will request an extension of the suspects' detention in court.
All of the findings were transferred to the forensics laboratories of the Israel Police for evidence extraction.
