(Live) – The Ministry of Health recommends how to properly handle and cook poultry and eggs.
The Ministry of Health informed Hai Pa News Corporation:
Ministry of Health recommendations for the proper handling and cooking of poultry and eggs. In recent weeks (January 2025), several cases of H5N1 avian influenza have been reported in poultry and turkey farms in Israel. In order to reduce the risk of illness, the Ministry of Health is publishing recommendations to the public for the proper handling and cooking of poultry and eggs.
It is important to note that the risk of infection between humans is extremely low and the virus is not contagious at all after cooking food. The Ministry of Health has not received any reports of human infection with bird flu in Israel.

Ministry of Health recommendations:
* Do not wash raw chicken – the water droplets that scatter as a result of washing may carry pathogens found on the chicken and contaminate other products.
* Chicken must be cooked or baked thoroughly to be safe to eat.
* Ensure that chicken, turkey and egg products are fully cooked.
* Avoiding cross-contamination – separating cutting boards for raw chicken and vegetables and separating products before and after cooking.
The Ministry of Health works in full cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, which is responsible for monitoring, surveillance, and treatment of avian influenza, in order to maintain food safety and public health.
Congratulations to the Ministry of Health for this important article.
People are unaware of the dangers and hospitals are far more full than desired.
