(Hai Pa) – Today (Thursday, January 16.01.25, 14 at 00:XNUMX PM) Coastal District police officers from the Tirat Carmel station carried out proactive activity against the phenomenon of illegal residents (Shabachim) in the station sector, as part of their efforts to prevent security offenses and stop violations of the Entry into Israel Law.
During targeted searches, a 23-year-old resident of Qalqilya was located near Atlit Shevah, driving a truck without a permit to enter and reside legally in Israel. The driver, a 35-year-old resident of Karni Shomron, who was driving him, was arrested at the scene.
The police arrested the two for questioning at the Tirat Carmel police station, after which they were imprisoned. The truck they were traveling in was also seized and towed to the station, with the police intending to file a request for confiscation as part of legal proceedings.
Preventing the Shabachim phenomenon: The police emphasize that enforcement activities are not only focused on the illegal residents themselves, but also on those who transport, employ and accommodate them – often in exchange for money. This is a phenomenon that may pose a security risk in addition to being a violation of the law.
