(Hai Pa) – Today, Tuesday, January 14, 01, the Haifa District Cross Country Championship was held at the “Eco” Park in Hadera, an event considered one of the highlights of the year’s sporting activity in the district. The competition, organized for decades by the Israel School Sports Association, attracted dozens of schools and teams from all over the region.

Achievements that bring honor to Haifa
The team is led by the physical education coordinator, Einat Aharon, along with a dedicated team of coaches: Alex Reichlin, Mariana Edelman, and Eran Bodega. The team’s dedication, professionalism, and commitment were clearly evident in the competition results, and these achievements ensured the participation of five teams from the school in the national competition to be held next week in “Emek HaMa’ayon.”

Also standing out in the championship was Timna Raz, a 16-year-old from the Nir-Etzion neighborhood in the Hof Carmel Regional Council, who studies at the Pelech School in Zichron Yaacov. Raz, who has been the Israeli champion in middle-distance running for the past few years, has been training with Maccabi Haifa since the age of 8 under the guidance of coach Aharon Shabtayev. Her achievements in the district championship added another layer to her status as a leading athlete in Israel in the field of middle-distance running.
Raz continues to lead competitive races and inspire many young people in the Carmel Beach and Haifa. Her perseverance and hard work, along with the support of her coach, have led her to win titles at the national and regional levels. Her achievements highlight the importance of nurturing young talent in various sports.
