A nurse from Haifa is suspected of defrauding a terminally ill patient and stealing hundreds of thousands of shekels

(Hai Fe) - A serious fraud case was uncovered in the city of Haifa, when a 26-year-old nurse, who worked at a medical center in the city, was accused of embezzling and embezzling approximately NIS 300,000 from a 100-year-old, 77% disabled cancer patient.

The suspect, who according to the indictment gained the trust of the patient and his family members at the hospital, was hired to take care of him in his private apartment. According to the suspicion, the caregiver took advantage of his serious medical condition to steal money from him by copying his credit card information and making large-scale purchases without his knowledge.

Police activity

Following a complaint that was filed, the Coast District police officers at the Haifa station began an undercover investigation, during which advanced technological means were used. After sufficient evidence was gathered, the police raided the suspect's apartment and detained her for questioning. Her detention was extended from time to time, and today a serious indictment was filed against her, along with a request for detention until the end of the proceedings.

Inspector Daniel Ben Hamo, Arrest Officer of the Haifa Claims Branch, commented on the case and said: "This is a shocking case of taking advantage of a medical and financial hardship. The police acted with all severity to expose the fraud and ensure that whoever harms sick and weakened people will be held accountable."

This case highlights the need for caution and control when hiring private services, especially for people with sensitive health conditions.

  1. The phenomenon is horrifying and outrageous. Not many years ago, a nursing company was closed and its license was taken away due to similar acts

  2. The cops are a championship!!!!!! all due respect!!!! Be strict with the punishments so that they will see and be seen.
To the families of the sick, monitor from time to time and see what is happening in the accounts of your loved ones and put cameras in the houses
