Hof district police officers arrested a 26-year-old city resident driver in Haifa, disqualified from driving and on probation for similar offenses from the court, on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
His car was seized and towed and he was detained for questioning and imprisoned.
Coast District police officers from the Haifa station carried out a proactive enforcement activity against crimes that cause traffic accidents, as part of the activity, the police officers noticed the suspect while he was driving a vehicle and stopped him for a test, during which a suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs arose and the driver was asked to perform a test to rule out the suspicion. The test revealed an indication of driving under the influence of drugs.
As mentioned, the 26-year-old driver, a resident of Haifa, was arrested for questioning at the Haifa station, at the end of which he was imprisoned. In accordance with the needs of the investigation and its findings, the police requested to extend his detention in the court which ordered his release under house arrest conditions until Sunday 12/01/24.
In addition, the driver's driver's license was revoked, his vehicle was seized and towed to the station.
