The Carmel Drainage and Streams Authority invites the general public to participate in a unique and significant meeting as part of planning the restoration of the Kabara area - a project to restore the historical Kabara marshes, renew the ecological sequence in the area, and integrate the values ​​of nature, community and tourism.

The Khabara area, previously drained for agricultural purposes, is now at the center of a large-scale initiative to restore the unique natural landscapes in the area. The project, led by the Carmel Drainage and Streams Authority and in partnership with the Carmel Coast Regional Council, Kibbutz Ma'agan Michael, the Society for the Protection of Nature, the Nature and Parks Authority, KKL-Junk, and other parties.

Restoring the ancient landscape and animals

The project focuses on the restoration of ancient landscapes and the restoration of species of birds, animals and vegetation unique to the area, creating an ecological continuum between the headwaters of the Taninim stream and its discharge into the sea, while connecting to other natural spaces, developing tourist infrastructure such as walking and riding trails, birdwatching, and rest and leisure complexes. Public participation and influence on the project

The public participation meeting will begin with a gathering, will include opening remarks, the presentation of the space, and round table discussions on key issues such as ecology, conservation and restoration, community, society, education, economy and entrepreneurship. The public is invited to express their views, ask questions and influence the planning outline
