The closure order
The original article was uploaded to the website on 6/1/25

(haipo) - On January 6, 2025, the Ministry of Health issued an immediate administrative closure order to the "Vivino" restaurant located at 1 Elizabeth Square Street, in the Romema neighborhood in Haifa (next to the gas station). The urgent order was issued following serious sanitation deficiencies discovered during a surprise audit. The audit was conducted following a complaint about food poisoning, and it found conditions that endanger public health.

The main findings:

  1. Poor and cumulative cleaning in the business.
  2. Crossovers between raw food and prepared food.
  3. Improper storage of animal food products.
  4. Refrigerators with raw food and prepared food without separation.
  5. Worn and rusty infrastructure and equipment.
  6. Use of improperly thawed food.

Consequences and sanctions:

The order was issued without a hearing due to the immediate danger to public health. The Ministry of Health is even considering canceling the health certificate given to the business license. The Israel Police received an instruction to verify the execution of the order.

Invitation to a hearing:

The restaurant owners were given the opportunity to present their arguments at the hearing, but the order will remain in effect until a different decision is made.
The Ministry of Health emphasizes the importance of maintaining standard sanitation conditions to prevent public health risks.

  1. And beyond that, I recommend not eating at this disgusting restaurant, which indicates that the management did not invest in hygiene, and in light of the past, it is doubtful whether it will be possible to eat there safely in the future

  2. Again it turns out that the red light method always works; A warning about a disability on one level indicates that there are probably problems on other levels as well.
We sat as two couples in the restaurant to eat and talk.
We couldn't chat because of the loud background music. The problem was not only due to the high volume, but mainly due to the nature of the music, trances with increased bass, combined with bad speakers, so what we heard were only loud knocks.
I asked the AHMS, to change to gentle background music that would allow conversation.
He replied that it was not possible. According to him, the playlist is determined by the management with an external company and AHMAS has no control over the music.
When something in the area of customer service is so deficient, it is likely that there will be additional deficiencies; And the article is the giver.

  3. We were there about two weeks ago, I ordered one of the more expensive dishes as a main dish,
I also "enjoyed" the skins of chestnuts in the dish, yes yes... skins
And a dirty and tasteless dish
    A. K. Z. B. E

  4. First and foremost, educate your waiters and kitchen workers to wash their hands with soap when leaving the bathroom.
I saw the waiter who served us come straight out of the bathroom into the restaurant space
    I was shocked
Unfortunately it was at the end of the meal
If I had seen it at the beginning I would not have touched anything!

  5. can be ashamed. They charge sky-high prices. It is expected that the quality will be accordingly.
The Ministry of Health did well to act as it did.
My foot will never set foot in this place again..shame!!!

  6. Up to 24 hours and for months and years before the closing order, the restaurant fed hundreds of people from the same dirty kitchens and poor food storage, etc. and so did all the restaurants that were closed by the order announced by the Ministry of Health.
On the one hand, it is very good that the decree is published for public information. On the other hand, we know that the orders are issued after a day or two of cleaning the kitchens and a "promise" to meet the legal requirements for food storage, food handling, etc. So much detail of the regular process and now you ask where is the failure in it?
The failure in it is very simple and that is the first sentence I said. The review is one-time and then correction of deficiencies. Such criticism cannot be a one-off. Such an audit should be conducted once a quarter in every business that sells and prepares food in Haifa. Such an audit should also be conducted on fair markets and "home" catering, which are sold on a large scale through various stores. An audit should be serious and that is creating a workshop for the kitchen workers of a restaurant that closes on rules for using and storing food, and the owner signing any form that must comply with them with criminal liability including heavy fines as a percentage of the turnover and even prison terms. something that was not done.
Otherwise these reviews are more of a show-off than a deterrent.
A restaurant owner says to himself: Okay, why invest tens of thousands of shekels in training employees and meeting standards if the Ministry of Health will close me down for two or three days and spot correction of deficiencies will be made? That way you don't create deterrence.

  7. It's nice that the Ministry of Health decided to surprise you, unless you continue your contempt at our expense, we poor people, the cost of living is not enough, even in a good restaurant, we can't eat with our eyes closed? A real shame for your name and it will harm all the branches you know!!! But come on, maybe this will open the eyes of all business owners and they will start observing the sanitation rules! good time

  8. We celebrated a birthday there, the next day we had stomach aches, we called and they didn't tell us why, and accordingly I intend to sue them now....arrogance, arrogance and other "vegetables"
    Not on us...

  9. The big one! We gave a training that was rudely violated by the management. You will not see us anymore even after you are allowed to reopen the place.

  10. It's not so pleasant to see a closed business...
Hope the deficiencies will be dealt with as soon as possible.
And the restaurant will be operating again soon.

  11. That I was poisoned there after two days in the bathroom, and I called to tell them, they gave the delusional answer: do you know how many customers call every day to say that?" As if that's part of the matter... good thing they closed. Hope it stays that way.. If there are no good intentions towards the customers, they will not improve. This is a changing story.

  12. When the punishments will not be funny, encouraging continued criminality, but more severe, such as for sanitary offenses, they will receive a minimum of one month's imprisonment, not a week, and a minimum fine of one hundred thousand shekels (I don't know if they receive a fine at all, can I get the system's answer?) After all, this is about public health and our children, offenses as above They will strive for zero.

    • It's not so pleasant to see a closed business...
Hope the deficiencies will be addressed as required and the restaurant will be back in business soon.

  13. Aspired by the Ministry of Health
At least they are doing a good job
Keep going and don't give up. Restaurant owners are only interested in money and surviving. They don't care about food full of bacteria and filth. The main thing is the money. The money is disgusting.

  14. After a week, the business will resume operation, as if no sanitation problem was found, for example the Ruben hamburger restaurant in Neve Shanan, and the other restaurants in Haifa.

  15. It seems that the restaurant owners in Israel simply do not care about the health of their customers! It's something really almost overwhelming. Improper storage of food (can lead to spoilage and then upset stomach) staff who do not wash their hands and much more. It's nice that the Ministry of Health once in a while... is doing their job. It's a shame not regularly, because restaurants would be much more compliant with the regulations if they knew there was a review every week.

  16. Not new and I knew it would come after sitting two times as a chef in Tzur Soshfit I felt that the food was full of lichens

  17. If in the cedars the flame fell
What will the "simple" restaurants say?
As restaurant eaters, we believed until this moment that this would not happen. We held her
Very. We dined there from the time it opened, so it was necessary to book two weeks in advance until the corona virus when ordering at home.
It's a shame. Shame and disgrace.

    • And we hoped that only the toilets there were dirty...
The managers of the place are arrogant and don't count the customers, so it's no wonder that all these serious defects were found that endanger public health and it turns out that they even harmed it.
We will not return there, nor to the other branches of the same chain and we will be there (the filth in the Zichron branch...).

    • I believe this is a one-time fault, according to their conduct, order and cleanliness in mind. Shame on the fault. If they found a fault with them, many restaurants can be closed.

    • Rather the simple and small ones have less areas for cleaning and more control because of a small menu

  18. It's a shame, and this one is still considered one of the best... Go find out what's going on in other places. We will eat at home.

  19. Congratulations on the audit by the Ministry of Health
That the restaurant will be closed for a month and this will serve as a red light for the owners of the rest of the restaurants
