(haipo) - The annual film festival in Haifa opened on Thursday, the second of January 2025, in a festive setting that swept culture lovers from all over the country. The event, which takes place in the Haifa Auditorium, is an exciting meeting between Israeli and international culture, art and cinema.
The festival opened with the screening of the new and talked-about film of the Iranian director Mohammad Rasulof "The Seed of the Holy Fig", the new film of the celebrated Iranian director Mohammad Rasoluf is a social and political family drama, in the package of a breathtaking thriller. The film harshly criticizes the Iranian regime and stands by the women's protest in a moving and meaningful cinematic way.

At the entrance to the hall, artists, producers, members of the city council and television channels gathered to witness a unique performance set up especially for the festival. Salute to Pnina Blair: the artistic director who carved her path at the festival
One of the most moving moments of the evening was the commemoration of the late Panina Blair, the artistic director of the festival for years. The opening speeches did not forget to emphasize Blair's enormous contribution to the world of cinema in Israel, and the spirit of innovation she brought to the event, which continues even after her passing.
The mayor of Haifa, Yona Yahav, presented Blair's family with a lifetime achievement award.
