The Haifa District Committee approved the construction plan for the passenger terminal on the city's waterfront.
The Haifa District Planning and Construction Committee, chaired by Ruth Shortz, approved today (Wednesday, 25/12/24) the construction of an international marine terminal building at Haifa Port.
This is a passenger terminal that will be used for cruise ships, is supposed to serve 6,500 passengers at the same time, and has a total area of 19,000 square meters. The terminal will be part of the development of the urban sea front in Haifa in accordance with TMA/3/13/A - "Development of the urban sea front in Haifa", which will combine commerce , tourism, buildings and public institutions.

The terminal building is planned where sheds 8 and 9 stand today, the first buildings erected by the British in 1932-33 in the area of the dry seaport. These buildings, which were determined to be preserved in the TMA, were used, among other things, as transit sheds for the export of oranges in the 30s, and symbolize the first stage in the establishment and development of the modern port in Haifa, a port that became after the establishment of the state the main entrance gate to Aliya to Israel.
The new building, which is required to meet the international standards for a marine passenger terminal, is designed around the historical sheds and inspired by them, while integrating and exposing them to the audience of passengers and visitors.
The local committee discussed the construction plan for the terminal in November, and in light of the TMA's requirement, the approval of the district committee was required, which was received, as mentioned, today.

The chairman of the Haifa District Planning and Construction Committee, Ruth Shortz, points out the national importance of establishing a marine terminal of international standards, which will turn Haifa into a tourist center and integrate into the development of the sea front - an extremely important plan for the city of Haifa. As the proposed construction, you should note, combines the construction historical in its field.
The Haifa District Planner in the Planning Administration, Ronen Segal, points out that alongside the national and municipal importance of the establishment of the terminal, including the reference to the aspects of preservation and history of the port and the buildings, the establishment of the terminal will be an important pillar in the implementation of TAMA/13/3/a and in the development of the urban seafront and its opening to the general public .
• The plan is an initiative of the Haifa Port Company and was prepared by the office of architects Mosheli Eldar.
They remembered after 76 years to build a terminal
In short, another wall of 4-5 stories 15 meters high and 200 meters long that will hide the entire lower city and the colony what little sea is left after the polynomial. Great, a pleasure. Continue to eliminate Haifa. The greed for real estate above all else. Of course, the simulations are only "from the bird's eye view" from above, this is how even the towers of the Carmel Beach looked small and non-threatening, this is how a 15 meter high wall is turned into something nice and small by the sea..
Have a good and successful time. Happy Hanukkah 🕎
Today it is a nightmare to get on a cruise. Kilometers of obstacle course.
Haifa needs a proper and efficient terminal.
Supposed to serve passenger ships and not cargo ships.
Have a good and successful time 🕎
