The Municipality of Tirat Carmel, through the Department of Enforcement, Supervision and Municipal Policing, held an operation during the past week to locate construction waste throwers in public areas throughout the city. The operation took place at construction sites, both in the old part of the city and in the new neighborhoods. During the operation, 14 reports were distributed to foremen, contractors and truck drivers for dumping construction waste, creating dangerous hazards and dirt on the road and sidewalk.
Also, after planning an operation and an ambush in the area, truck drivers who came from outside the city were caught throwing waste in large quantities. Due to the scope of the offense and the desire to prevent the recurrence of these cases in the future, the continuation of their treatment was transferred to the Union of Cities.
On top of that, a truck driver and a forklift driver were caught during the operation, driving while their license was revoked. The two were detained by the city police and transferred to the Tirat Carmel police station for further treatment, and the truck was disabled in the area for 30 days by the police.

Amir Shiloh, director of the Tirat Carmel municipal enforcement unit:
The Municipal Enforcement Division carries out overt and covert activity throughout the year, to locate waste throwers in public areas throughout the city, within the framework of policies and goals established by the mayor and in view of the massive construction in the city and the significant increase in the population. In this framework, the members of the enforcement division use a variety of measures against the waste throwers, who often cause heavy and sometimes irreversible damage to the environment and the quality of life. We do not shy away from the challenge, and will continue to act against trespassers on the topic of dumping waste as much as necessary.
