(haipo) - In a festive and impressive launch event, the first football museum in the country was opened - the museum documenting the history of Maccabi Haifa and its great moments.
Maccabi Haifa, together with past players and football legends who left a mark on the club, inaugurated last night (Thursday, 19.12) the treasures of its glorious history. The club's president Yaakov Shahar, his deputy Uzi Mor, Minister of Culture and Sports Miki Zohar, Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav, club CEO Itzik Ovadia, and other distinguished guests were present at the festive event. The event was the opening shot for the club's major celebrations.
The first football museum in Israel is Maccabi Haifa's and it is green. The museum was inaugurated in the "Sami Ofer" stadium in Haifa, Maccabi Museum Haifa.
The special event brought to it, dozens of dignitaries and green legends who wrote the history of Haifa in the past, such as: the president of the club Ya'akov Shahar, the team's coach, Barak Becher and many of the past players, starting with Roni Levy, Yaniv Katan, Yossi Banyon, Zahi Armali, Eric Benado, Nir Davidovitch, And Bunny Russo, Gustavo Boccoli, football coach Shlomo Scharf, Eli Gutman and many more.

During the ceremony, apart from the lavish hospitality and a tour of the museum gallery, the Minister of Sports and the Mayor of Haifa spoke a few words for the occasion. The Green Museum brings the journey of Maccabi Haifa from its beginning somewhere in 1913 to the present day. From Selecter's header in 1984 that brought the first championship, passing through that great 0:5 from Atar's feet that illustrated the greatness of winning an undefeated championship, through Casey's rebound that brought us to the Champions League for the first time, to Sherry's goal against PS G. who bounced 30,000 greens on his feet, in a celebration the likes of which had not yet been seen in Israel. And hopefully for future achievements that will also enter the Pantheon.

A distinguished museum of Maccabi Haifa. A good and blessed week to all.
