Israel Railways is speeding up the electrification project these days in the northern region and because of this, there are changes these days in the northern region and in the movement of the trains at night, the night between Mochas and Shishon.
The works include the installation of the electrification infrastructure on the tracks, and require stopping for short periods of the train service. This is because the works cannot be carried out on an active track where trains travel.
The works will last about a year.
Changes in the northern region, from Sunday to Thursday
Starting at 21:00 - trains on the Beit Shean - Atlit line - will end/start their journey at Haifa Beach HaCarmel station and will not continue their journey to Atlit station.
There will be changes in train departure times in the evening on the Nahariya - Modi'in, Binyamina - Ashkelon, Beit Shean - Haifa HaCarmel lines. It is recommended to keep up to date with the times when planning a travel route

pay attention,
In view of the entry into force of the "Derech Sheveh" reform, as of August 1.8.2022, 7 and the cancellation of the "flexible 30" and "flexible XNUMX" periodic travel arrangements, the compensation arrangement for closing a section of track, which was in effect until now, is cancelled.
A new compensation arrangement is currently being formulated by the Ministry of Transportation and will be published soon. The new arrangement that will be published will apply retroactively as of August 1.8.2022, XNUMX.
I didn't understand why the electrification was needed.
Electric trains are quieter than diesel trains. This is also more environmentally friendly, because unlike electric cars that use lithium-ion batteries, the production of which pollutes the environment, the electric train receives its electricity directly from the power plant.
Kudos to Israel Railways for the improvements. Good morning and welcome to everyone.
