The mayor of Haifa, Yona Yahav visited the exhibition called 'Susita' at the Haifa City Museum: "The city museum is a rare gem that we will continue to develop"
These days, the access of the Haifa City Museum to people with physical disabilities is about to end. Elevators have been installed in both museum buildings, which will allow easy access with strollers and wheelchairs to the upper floors. In addition, additional and required adjustments were made. After receiving all the final approvals, the museum will be officially declared accessible to people with physical disabilities.

The Mayor of Haifa, Yona Yahav and his wife Rivka, visited the museum on Tuesday 10/12/24 and conducted a tour with a curator
The museum, Yifat Ashkenazi, and the CEO of Haifa Museums Yotam Yakir at the "Susita" exhibition.

Mayor Yahav was impressed by the innovations in the museum and said:
The Haifa City Museum is a rare gem that we will continue to develop. The exhibition 'Susita' is a great example of an exhibition that deals with a story that all took place in the Haifa area, in a creative and thought-provoking way, with great collaborations with academic institutions in Haifa and other important organizations.
The Haifa City Museum is located in the German Colony in two beautiful Templar buildings, and it presents exhibitions dealing with the history of Haifa from an artistic and creative angle. These days the museum is showing the fascinating exhibition "Susita" and the exhibition "Gabra" which is a project of the incubator for place art, artists who create within communities in Haifa.

Haifa Museums CEO Yotam Yakir said:
The accessibility of the Haifa City Museum is important news and towards final completion. Haifa museums are accessible to the general public and we constantly make great efforts to improve the experience of visiting us for every person, of every age. I have hope that the problem of the Mana Katz museum, which has been closed for three years only because it was not accessible to people with disabilities, will soon be resolved thanks to the cooperation and significant assistance of the municipality on the matter.
The exhibition "Susita"
The Susita car is a distinct Israeli brand that, despite the short period in which the car was manufactured, still arouses interest and nostalgic smiles in us today. The exhibition presents the story of the Israeli automobile industry, which actually began in Haifa, and the story of the rise and fall of the Autocars company, which produced the various Susita models. The exhibition includes various aspects, such as: the historical story, the story of the horse collectors, the unique material that was used to build the cars - this is fiberglass, press clippings and archival films, original models of horse cars that will be displayed in the museum yard, digital games created especially for the exhibition and much more."

The exhibition "Gabra"
In the Neve David neighborhood in Haifa, there is a community garden that is cultivated by the residents of the neighborhood. For a year, the artist Rivka Belai, who immigrated from Ethiopia in 1994, documented her father and the other residents of the neighborhood inside the garden. The exhibition features two video works and a collection of photographs. The works in the exhibition document male figures who have been dealing for several decades with a constant desire to adapt to a new place.
