Air Haifa, the first airline to base its operations in Haifa and the first to be established in Israel in three decades, officially announces today (Sun., 8.12.24) the start of operations from Haifa International Airport on December 22, 2024, subject to the security situation. The company's maiden flight from Haifa to Eilat is scheduled to take off this day at 10:00 am.
With the start of operations from the company's base in Haifa, the fleet will include three state-of-the-art ATR 72-600 aircraft, positioning Air Haifa as the operator of the youngest aircraft fleet in Israel.
In addition, the company announces the launch of a new line from Haifa to Athens, which will start operating from Thursday, January 2, 2025, at a price starting at $149 one way. Flights on the Haifa-Athens route will initially be operated 5 times a week (on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays), with departures from Haifa at 09:00 and Athens at 13:00.
In addition, the company will operate 3 daily flights from Haifa to Larnaca at a price starting at $49 each way, and two daily flights to Eilat at a price starting at NIS 189 each way. The flight schedule is designed to provide a comprehensive answer to the aviation needs of the residents of the north and the center, both on domestic flights domestic and international flights.
In order to make the Haifa airport accessible for flights to and from it, starting on December 22nd, a new bus line of the Egged company, line 100, will be operated for the first time, which will connect the Gulf Central Station, which is the transportation parent of an integrated transportation system, the only one of its kind in Israel, directly to the entrance of the terminal at the Haifa airport . The new line will be activated every 30 minutes and will allow convenient, available and cost-effective access for passengers arriving at the station by Israel Railways, bus, subway or cable car.
Those flying from Haifa airport are asked to plan their arrival at the terminal up to an hour and a quarter before the departure time.
In preparation for the start of operations from Haifa and in order to ensure a quick and comfortable experience, infrastructure works are being completed at Haifa Airport with an investment of tens of millions of shekels by the Airports Authority and the Ministry of Transportation. In this framework, a comprehensive renovation of the runway was carried out, the operating systems were upgraded and additional parking lots near the terminal were prepared.
In addition, biometric checkpoints were recently installed at the airport for passengers flying on international flights. The opening of a duty free store in the terminal is expected in a few months.
