On Monday, 2/12/24, the Municipality of Tirat Carmel held a farewell event for Col. Amir Harel, who will soon end his position as commander of the Coastal District in the Home Front Command. Col. Harel has been accompanying Tirat Carmel and the Hiklar team of the Home Front Command since January 2020, at the same time to other authorities in the district, and in this framework he is responsible for the authority's preparation for emergency situations. The new headquarters of the Coast District also participated in the morning event. Lt. Col. Amichai Kidar.
In the ceremony, held as part of the meeting of the Malach (emergency economy) committee, the mayor, Dodo Cohen Shay, presented an award to Col. Harel and thanked him for his great contribution to the city of Tirat Carmel and its residents:
I welcome the deep connection that exists between the Authority and the Home Front Command, and with the District Commander in particular. This is a significant cooperation, which over the years has strengthened the continuity of our function and our preparedness for emergencies, as manifested more strongly during the Corona period as well as during the October 7 war. I wish my friend Amir great success, we are always here at your disposal.
Col. Amir Harel:
I arrived at the Carmel Castle shortly before the outbreak of the Corona crisis, and I immediately fell in love with the city and felt at home. The desire for excellence stood out here from the first moment, and to my pride quite a few authorities learned from us how to conduct themselves in an emergency. I am grateful for a challenging period that produced a series of achievements for the residents and I hope that we will know quiet days soon.
