(Haifa) - As part of the fight against serious crime in the Haifa area, Coast District police officers acted in two separate cases to uncover illegal weapons, which were allegedly held by criminal elements.
Seizure of an M-16 weapon in Bosmet Tivon
In an operational activity of Zebulon police officers in the area, together with a detective unit and a police dog, the forces raided the house of a suspect in the settlement of Bosmet Tivon. During the search, an M-16 weapon and a cartridge were found in the yard of the suspect's house, a 21-year-old man.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the police station for questioning, at the end of which he was imprisoned. The weapon and the cartridge were seized and transferred to the forensic laboratories for evidence investigation. The police are expected to request the extension of the suspect's detention in court, depending on the progress of the investigation.
Seizure of stun grenades in Kfar Asafia
In another case, police officers from the Nesher station from the Carmel area worked together with YSM Carmel fighters in Kfar Asafia. As part of the operation, the police officers raided a residential complex and uncovered two stun grenades, which were suspected to be intended for criminal use.
The suspect, a 27-year-old resident of Asafia, was arrested and questioned at the police station in Nesher. At the end of the investigation, he was imprisoned, and the police are expected to submit a request to extend his detention at the court in Haifa. In this case as well, the illegal was caught and sent for tests in the forensic laboratories.
