(Hai Fe) - Two victims were evacuated tonight (between Sunday and Monday, November 25, 2024) following a fire that broke out in a residential building on Sderot Zion Street in Kiryat Ata. One of them, about 50 years old, is in serious condition after inhaling a lot of smoke and being sedated and ventilated.
From MDA it was delivered to here: because at 00:48 A report was received at the 101 hotline about the fire. MDA medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene provided medical treatment to two victims:
- A 47-year-old man is in serious condition, sedated and ventilated.
- A 26-year-old man in moderate condition.
Both were taken to Rambam Hospital for further medical treatment.
The rescue union stated: The fire crews rescued the two victims from the building. Naftali Rotenberg, director of the Carmel region of the Rescue Union, and medic Haim Avni said: "The fire crews rescued the 50-year-old man in serious condition. We gave him first aid on the spot, and he was taken to the hospital while sedated and breathing due to smoke inhalation. In addition, we provided assistance to another casualty , about 25 years old, who was slightly to moderately injured."
MDA medic Avraham Bruner, who participated in treating the injured, added: "When we arrived, we saw the fire in a residential building. Passersby reported to us about two people trapped inside the building. The fire brigade rescued the two to us. The 47-year-old man was unconscious, suffering from severe smoke inhalation and acute shortness of breath. We gave him life-saving medical treatment, anesthetized and ventilated him in order to stabilize his condition and evacuated him to the hospital."
Fire and rescue forces worked at the scene to extinguish the fire and prevent the spread of the fire. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
