The appointment of the mayor's advisor for the advancement of women's status was approved
The city council unanimously approved the appointment of Ruthie Friedman, deputy director of the social services division: "Thank you for the trust, and for the responsibilities and challenges that I see as an important public mission."
On Sunday, 24/11/24, the Tirat Carmel city council unanimously approved the recommendation of the mayor, Dodo Cohen, for the appointment of Ruthie Friedman as the mayor's advisor for the advancement of women's status.
Friedman, a resident of Atlit and a mother of three, has been working in the social services department of the Tirat Carmel municipality for about 14 years, and for the past six years has served as the deputy director of the department. She has a master's degree in social work, and guides groups and workshops.
As part of her position, Friedman will work to promote the city's policy on the status of women, while promoting awareness, public awareness and advocacy, and equality between the sexes.
Upon confirmation of her appointment, Friedman said: "I thank the mayor, the city administration and the members of the city council for the trust and the responsibilities and challenges that I see as an important public mission."
