Killed by gunfire in Kiryat Ata

(haipo) - A 40-year-old man was killed and a woman was slightly injured this evening (Motash, 23/11/24) as a result of a shooting in Kiryat Ata. The man was taken to Rambam Hospital in Haifa in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation carried out by Israel Police officers indicates that the background to the incident is apparently criminal.

The salvation union said:

The medical teams of the Rescue Union provided first aid to a man (about 40 years old) who was critically injured in a violent incident on Yoseftal Street in Kiryat Ata.

Naftali Rotenberg, the head of the Carmel region of the Rescue Union and his deputy, Vanati Dana, said:
"We were informed that he was injured in a violent incident and subsequently lost consciousness. We performed CPR on him and then he was taken to the hospital for further treatment, where his condition is described as critical."

MDA informed Lahi Pa:

At 18:52 p.m., a report was received at MDA's 101 hotline in the Carmel region, about a violent incident on Yoseftal Street in Kiryat Ata. MDA medics and paramedics provide medical treatment and refer 2 injured people to Rambam Hospital, including: a 40-year-old man in serious condition Very and a 25-year-old woman in a mild condition.

Senior medics at the MDA Rotem Tsinovoy and Iti Mazor said:

"We saw a man lying on the floor in the street suffering from penetrating injuries in several places on his body. He was unconscious and suffering from life-threatening bleeding. We gave him life-saving medical treatment that included stopping the bleeding, breathing assistance and medication and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care vehicle to the hospital when his condition Hard and unstable. Another injured person who was hit in the incident fled the scene to a nearby building. We reached her and gave her first aid and she is being taken to the hospital in a minor condition."

The police told Lai Pa:

A gunshot wound in Kiryat Ata: A short time ago, the death of the 33-year-old man, a resident of Nesher, was pronounced by the medical officials at the Rambam Medical Center.

The district commander, Superintendent Yehiel Bohdana, is on his way to the scene to assess the situation with the commanders, to continue searching for the suspects and to arrest them.
The background to the incident is apparently criminal
