(haipo) - Students in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Technion were amazed when they noticed that on one of the tables in the faculty was written the slogan: From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.
"I'm an electrical engineering student," says a student who asks not to reveal her name. "Last Thursday (14/11/2024) at noon, I and a few other students from the faculty were looking for a place where we could study together. We have learning complexes in each faculty. This is a shared space with tables and computers. This is our regular place, whenever we want to study together We are sitting more or less in the same place when we arrived at the learning complex, it was completely empty, and we sat down at an empty table, not our permanent table, and then we saw that the sentence was written on "Free Palestine", and we were simply shocked."
"When we saw this, we were all at a loss, we didn't really know what to do and we informed the faculty committee. One of those in charge of the complex told us that one of the people in charge would come and take care of the issue. What actually happened is that people came and told us that we must not vandalize the place. We only reported, we would never write such a thing. What is most unbelievable is that we closed the faculty's learning complex. We were told it was a collective punishment, but we really didn't understand what exactly we were supposed to be punished for. Until now, the complex is still closed and we have nowhere to study."
We expect the Technion to address clearly what happened
"No one spoke to us or issued a statement about what happened, it is very jarring for us," continues the student, "We really expect the Technion to make a clear statement here, which does not give place to such addresses. We tried to understand why no one at the Technion, not even among the students, Does not issue a message on the subject.
Students we spoke with told us that they felt there was no point, after seeing what happened to students who supported the shocking videos of the October Seven, who were not punished as they should have been. Therefore, they realized that there is no reason to take a stand here, because nothing is being done about it anyway, this is a widespread phenomenon at the Technion. It's a ridiculous situation that students can't know that the person sitting next to them is thinking such a thing, especially when there are so many students serving in the reserves right now. We are all waiting for a response from the Technion, or at least they will reopen the learning complex. There is no reason to punish us."
The Technion responded:
The Technion views the act very seriously. He has no place in our community. The issue was transferred to the security unit and a complaint was filed with the police, who came to the campus to investigate the incident. The address was immediately deleted and the learning space returned to activity.
The Technion has long not been a pleasant institution to study in due to hostility from Arab elements that took over it. I stopped donating to scholarships. Shame on an institution founded by Jewish and Zionist scientists and giving priority to a sector that does not bear any obligation to the state that gives it all possible opportunities to promote itself. For a sector that only makes every visible and covert effort to stand out as a hater of the state. Totally rejected.
🤣🤣
1. It didn't "shock the students"; This article exists because someone wrote to Shay Glick, who usually complains to the whole world and his wife about anything that supports the Palestinians - and some people simply copy and paste his references.
2. Bet that 95% of the students at the Technion don't know about it at all, and the other 5% find it interesting on the graffiti level of "N Nachman Mauman".
3. This is not an anti-Semitic address.
Stop whining about every address.
I came across these in Europe this week.
Delete or scribble on it, and move on.
What are you looking for, a soldier or a Mossad person who will protect everyone here?
We were not surprised the Amalek seed study both at the Technion and at the university and there is nothing new here.
The Technion is full of Islamists.. How unsurprising!
It's interesting that everyone is silent, but if they wrote, God forbid, "death to the Arabs", the whole media would be on it.
A grain of sand was spotted on the coastal road after it was brutally thrown from the beach by a wind funded by foreign governments...
If there is no news, don't write
This is not an anti-Semitic statement, it is an anti-Israeli or anti-Zionist statement
Stupid people or monsters are everywhere. What's amazing about that?
The conditioned reflex that any anti-Israel statement is immediately equated with anti-Semitism should stop. Doesn't serve us at all. vice versa
Anyone really surprised?
Send the writers of this to Gaza immediately and their families. Get out of Israel now
