The Mayor of Kiryat Bialik, Eli Dukorski, arrived on Sunday 10/11/24 at the home of Miriam Harel, the darling of the city and a Holocaust survivor, on the occasion of her 100th birthday.
Miriam Harel, born in Poland and a Holocaust survivor, dedicated her life to perpetuating the memory of the Holocaust and passing on the message to future generations. For many years she has been giving lectures and meetings with teenagers and adults, telling her personal story and sharing her testimony as a Holocaust survivor.
Alongside her educational activities, Harel documented the testimonies of other Holocaust survivors and published books on the subject. She regularly participates in "Remembrance in the Living Room" events and serves as a key witness in commemorating International Holocaust Day, as part of Kiryat Bialik's collaboration with the twin cities.
Mayor Eli Dukorski:
Miriam Harel is a symbol and example of dedication and the importance of preserving memory. Its educational and value-based work affects generations of residents in our city and beyond. We are proud and privileged that Miriam is a resident of our city, and we wish her many more years of good health and continued meaningful work.
Blessings and good health to Miriam Harel, and her work
