Yaakov Avni and Shmuel Edelstein, medics from Ihud Hatzla who arrived at the scene, said: "According to passers-by, the man was seriously injured as a result of severe violence against him. We gave him initial medical treatment, which included dressings and stopping bleeding, and then he was taken to Rambam Hospital in serious condition."
The circumstances of the incident are being investigated, and the Israel Police have opened an investigation to clarify the case.
