As part of the operation, drivers were detained and summonses were issued for serious offenses including driving a vehicle with a prohibition on use, illegal modifications to the vehicle and safety defects.
On Route 752, a vehicle whose driver was found to be driving it a second time despite a notice of non-use was stopped. The vehicle was towed for 60 days and the driver received a summons. Two more vehicles were stopped at Damon Square and Tzir Bar Yehuda, both with old notices prohibiting use, which were towed for 30 days each. In addition, at the entrance to Nesher, a 22-year-old driver, a resident of Havaled, was detained, who was driving a vehicle that had been modified in violation of the law. The vehicle, which was taken off the road earlier this month and has not yet been repaired, was parked on site for 60 days and the driver was summoned to court.
As part of the activity, two additional vehicles were taken off the road due to defects and were given soundness reports. Nesher station emphasizes that targeted enforcement will continue in order to ensure the safety of road users and prevent crimes that endanger the public.
