(haipo) - Volunteers from the new Acropolis association did a cleaning operation of an alley that had been abandoned for many years near the Talpiot Market. The path opened there is a dirt path and it is expected to be muddy during the coming winter. To complete the task, it may be worthwhile to arrange the path with some substrate, which will make it possible to pass through it even in winter.
Gal Sweety tells about the cleaning operation:
An alley with no name
The alley that was cleaned is an alley without a name, located between Ekron Street and Rabbi Ohana Street.
Prostitution and drugs in the alley:
Gal Sweety: The place was active in prostitution and drugs. The physical cleaning, in cooperation with the Municipality of Haifa, is the way to change the reality of the place from a deserted place to a place bustling with life, used by the public. The municipality brought a tractor that cleared large amounts of waste and the volunteers cleaned the remaining garbage with their hands and marked a path.
the happening
About 40 people participated in the operation, most of them members of the "New Acropolis" association (an association dealing with philosophy, which is located near the cleaned alley). A band of guitarists and singers that is pleasant with calm music. The participants received discount vouchers for meals at the nearby restaurants - cooperation with the business owners, who encourage the cleaning operation near them.

You are amazing...well done...
all due respect! Want to join next time!
Regular maintenance is lacking everywhere and the neighborhood has to learn from other cities where there are social activities for the general public all year round
Sweet gal, it's a bit unclear what dirt has to do with drug addicts? Do you think that by cleaning you up, the drug problem in this alley will stop?
It doesn't seem like this alone will solve the problem of prostitution and drugs, but it's a start...and it's a really nice voluntary act...get up and succeed...you are the next generation that will run the city
…..I wish…
