An underground gambling house was uncovered in a police raid in Haifa. The operator of the place, a 52-year-old resident of Nahariya, was detained for questioning.
The war on the illegal gambling clubs in the Coastal District continues unabated - proactive activity by the police of the Haifa station in the Carmel area of the Coastal District revealed a place that was used as an illegal gambling and gaming house in the city.
As part of the fight against the operation of the illegal gambling houses, police officers of the Haifa station acted and raided a building in the city on Derech Jaffa Street that is used as a club for gambling, lotteries and illegal games. During the raid, the police seized exhibits indicating that an illegal gambling house was operating there, including dozens of computers and cash amounting to thousands of shekels suspected to be the proceeds of criminal activity. At the end of the search, the operator of the place, a 52-year-old resident of Nahariya, was taken to the station for questioning and the place was closed by the police.
The Carmel Coast District is using all the means at their disposal in the fight against the criminal activity of illegal gambling and it will reach all those places that are disguised as innocent businesses and which in fact conduct vigorous criminal activity of illegal gambling.
