Kiryat Bialik Mayor Eli Dukorski came to the Knesset Finance Committee to demand compensation for businesses in Kiryat that were damaged in the war and was successful in his fight.
The Mayor of Kiryat Bialik, Eli Dukorski, participated on Tuesday 29/10/24 in the meeting of the Knesset's Finance Committee which discussed the expansion of the government compensation scheme for businesses in the north of the country. Dukorski presented to the members of the committee a difficult picture of the business sector in the Kiryat area since the area entered the circle of fire in September.
"The new security reality in the Kiryat region has created a deep economic crisis," Dukorski said in the discussion. "Many residents avoid leaving their homes due to the fear of falling missiles, which leads to severe damage to business activity. In addition, the closure of the education system forces many parents to stay at home with their children, which deepens the damage to local businesses."
Dukorski demanded to include the Kiryat area in the expanded compensation plan and to provide an adequate response to the businesses caught up in the crisis.
On his way out of the yeshiva, Dukorsky said:
Dear residents,
I just left the Knesset Finance Committee meeting and I am happy to inform you that the Minister of Finance has decided to include the Kiryats in general and Kiryat Bialik in particular in the compensation outline for businesses. This is a periodic compensation plan that will allow businesses in Kiryat Bialik to receive compensation for the months of September and October. With this, the struggle led by the mayors of the Kiryats is crowned with success. I want to thank the Minister of Finance for his decision, to thank Member of Knesset Ofir Katz, chairman of the coalition, who accompanied our struggle.
