The mayor of Kiryat Bialik, Eli Dukorski, and the municipal team held a comprehensive working meeting with the property tax administration, with the participation of the deputy director of the tax authority, Ms. Miri Savion. The meeting was held against the background of the ongoing damage the city has been receiving from rocket fire from Lebanon since September 22.
At the meeting, alarming figures were presented on the extent of the damage in the city: nearly 200 vehicles were damaged by direct hits and interceptors, and about 300 residences suffered damage and damage. Following this, it was agreed to deepen the cooperation between the municipality and property tax in providing a quick and efficient response to residents whose property was damaged.
Mayor Dukorski put forward a request to include the Kiryat region in the compensation arrangement that the state grants to the northern settlements, this in light of the hundreds of rockets that have been fired into the region in recent months. In the near future, a discussion is expected to be held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich regarding the outline of compensation for businesses and residents.
"The security reality requires recognition of the Kiryat area as an integral part of the northern settlements entitled to compensation from the state," said Dukorski and added "We are working diligently with all the relevant parties to ensure that the residents of Kiryat Bialik receive the full compensation they deserve for the heavy damage caused to their property."
