The Minister of Economy and Industry, MK Nir Barkat paid a visit to Rambam on Monday 21/10/24 in the afternoon, during which he met with the wounded of the IDF and their families.
Minister's visit to Barkat
Minister Barkat began the visit to the underground hospital where the intensive care and neurosurgical intensive care wards are located - where a number of seriously injured soldiers are hospitalized. The minister spoke with the families of the injured and heard about the events in which they were injured and the course of their treatment. After that, Minister Barkat visited the orthopedics and trauma departments and talked with soldiers who are hospitalized there in a condition defined as moderate.
The shrapnel stuck in the spine
The father of one of the soldiers who is currently recovering from back surgery showed the minister the shrapnel that was embedded in the spine of the soldier's son. Minister Barkat said that he himself was hospitalized at Rambam after being hit by a bullet in his back during a raid in Lebanon in the 80s and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
