(haipo) - On Sunday this week (6/10/24) close to midnight, a number of missiles were launched into Haifa from Lebanese territory. Several areas of the city were damaged and several residents were slightly injured by shrapnel.
A direct hit occurred in one of the squares in the Shprintak neighborhood in Haifa, when several apartments in a nearby building were also damaged. The square itself was restored a day later. Regina Chiorni, 27, who rents one of the damaged apartments, tells Lahi Fe: "I live in the first building near the traffic circle that was damaged. On Sunday there was an alarm at 23:22 p.m. We don't exactly have a shelter in the building, but a kind of warehouse with a metal door, and when it was Alarmed we went down to him quickly.
"The blow blew the glass on us"
"Most of the neighbors did not have time to reach the warehouse, because the missile fell towards the end of the alarm. It was an explosion I have never heard in my life! Our stairwell has decorative glass and I reached the first floor, you could still hear the alarm and then we heard the explosion.
The gust blew the glass from the stairwell on us. Luckily most of us were not injured, except for one of the neighbors. There was an open apartment in front of me on the first floor and I entered it, even though glass was flying in it too. We were at the entrance of the apartment and waited. After a few moments we continued to the warehouse."
What did you see when you returned to the apartment?
"At the time of the fall, I was sure it fell into the building's garden. I thought it might have fallen into the sea. We waited for 15 minutes out of fear. No one knew how to inform us what was happening. Then I went up to my apartment and saw that all the windows were shattered. Even the flower vase was shattered. The window of my room flew all the way in and landed on the bed. The bathroom window was broken, the shower door was completely smashed. The living room and kitchen windows were shattered. The whole house was full of pieces. I rent the apartment, so I took my things and went to my mother's."
Is the damage to the apartment the only damage?
"My car was also damaged. The windshield was shattered. No one knows what's going on. The insurance isn't willing to touch the damage to the car, they say the income tax is supposed to take care of it. I can't hear another explosion like the one I heard.
Where are you going to live in the near future?
"The owner of the apartment applied to the property tax and now I am looking for a short-term apartment in the area where I used to live and it is very complicated. I of course prefer to live in my apartment, which I have lived in for a little over a year. I contacted the municipality to ask if I am entitled to anything and they referred me to the property tax, but I cannot get An answer from them. They told me that the owner of the apartment is entitled to an alternative residence. From what I understand, the building itself, with the broken windows and possibly also the apartment, needs to be renovated."
Besides the property damage, how do you feel?
"I feel relatively fine. I have pain from the top and a headache. All in all, I'm fine, we'll see what happens when the alarm goes off again."
Have you considered moving even just for a few weeks to live in another city?
"I really like Haifa, and I don't really have anywhere to go, there are alarms all around."
Haifa Municipality: Representatives of the Public Inquiries Division assist tenants in any matter, including property tax appeals
The municipality stated in response that from the moment the missiles fell in Haifa, the representatives of the Public Inquiries Division are at the centers of the falls and are assisting the tenants with any issue that arises, including guidance on how to act in relation to property tax. "Residents whose property has been damaged are asked to open a property tax application by calling *4954 or using an online form on the website.

She loves Haifa!!!! She deserves a free apartment...
Not a very good joke
A very good joke. Now that the failed old man is back in the municipality because of idiotic Haifaites there will be another mass flight from Haifa
Correction of an error....it is about artillery rockets and not missiles....the missiles have a guidance system....the rockets don't, they are probably artillery rockets made in Iran, diameter 122 millimeters, maximum range 35-40 kilometers, warhead about 20 kilos...a deadly weapon.
I live in Shfrink 3 very close to the square that was hit by the missile...the noises made me scream with crazy intensity...I had a seizure that I couldn't stop the fear...I also live in the State Place building...we were promised evacuations
But nothing has been done...for a decade...
Since that night I have been living in fear...I didn't report trying to cope with sleeping pills...which help to fall asleep
The time has really come to seriously take care of proper and close protection for all residents of Haifa and the north
The time to install a shelter for each apartment was already decades ago. In Haifa and throughout the country. Disdain and neglect are appalling.
The old man promises 20 years of urban renewal in the coastal neighborhoods, since then we too have aged.
In practice, in the last 2 decades, out of tens of thousands of tenants who have signed with developers, only 2 buildings have been renovated in the shabby and old coastal neighborhoods of Haifa (1 at the exit of Europe and 1 at King Solomon)
What would he have said if the missile had hit the building and there had been a disaster? Are the entrepreneurs to blame again?
Fixing a square in 24 hours is your achievement?
Hahahahahahahahahahaha I have been promised for two years to trim trees on Geula Street. Since then many golden pigeons have hatched from the eggs.
When a missile hits a house on a certain street in Dania, then see what the failed old man will say and be sure that the next day the municipal employees will show up at his apartment and assess the damage
No one cares about those whose homes were damaged and in this case - Alek "alternative housing" the apartment is rented, the landlord doesn't really care that his tenant has nowhere to live.
