The wave of terror: vandalism and swastikas in a kindergarten in Haifa

(lives here in the kindergartens) - The wave of terror - Parents who arrived this morning (Monday, 30/09/24) at the Danait Kindergarten on Zalman Shneor Street in Haifa, were horrified to discover vandalism, widespread and severe that was not seen in the municipal kindergarten. The heavy damage to the infrastructure and facilities in the kindergarten caused shock among the parents and the staff. From looking at the harsh photographs and the hateful inscriptions, it can be assumed that these are acts with a nationalist background, but official confirmation from the Israel Police, that the background is nationalist, has not yet been provided.

This morning, after several weeks in which the children did not come to kindergarten due to the directives of the Home Front Command, the parents expected to return their children to kindergarten. However, when they arrived at the scene, they discovered destruction and devastation that prevented the kindergarten from returning to regular activity. "We have not seen anything like this before," says one of the mothers. "The place was destroyed in an indescribable way, it's very painful to see a place that was so well maintained turn into a wave of destruction."

Due to the situation, parents were forced to return home with their children and stay at home, causing many of them to be absent from their workplaces.

Parents expressed frustration and concern about the safety of their children, and called on the municipality and the Haifa police to act as soon as possible to repair the damage and find those responsible for the serious act.

Some of the damage included graffiti on the walls of the building, destruction of playground equipment, and broken windows. The spokesperson of the municipality stated that the issue will be dealt with quickly, and that Gan Danait is expected to return to activity within a few days, after the damage has been repaired.

Haifa Municipality's response:

  1. They still haven't decided if it was vandalism on a nationalist background? What about the swastikas?
    Put cameras!!!

  2. There is no supervision on the part of the municipality for anything. Those who travel with the car and it is also those who ask to meet with the manager. There is no response. They work very hard in the municipality.

  3. Terrible and terrible, I would love to know who did it and where it came from. How do people get to this situation? I hope they will be caught quickly and receive a deterrent punishment.

  4. Only comprehensive legal reform to restore governance, stricter enforcement and personal security..
We need an urgent legal reform - from every corner the damages are accumulating

  5. trauma and shock. My daughter was educated in this kindergarten for two years. Hard and painful pictures. My heart goes out to the parents and the staff.
