(Hai Pa) - An inspector was attacked outside the matron by a passenger who refused to pay.
The Union of Forced Transport for Workers gave Lahi Pa:
"The public transport workers work under fire, and are threatened with both missiles and violence. The murder of a public transport worker is only a matter of time."
An inspector (public transportation inspector) of the Superbus company was attacked this afternoon (Sunday, September 29.9) by a passenger.
The inspector got on line 3 near Talpiot Market. When he asked to check the multi-line of the passenger, he answered with curses, and when he asked to make sure that the passenger paid for the trip, the passenger threatened him to "close an account with him".
At the next stop, the inspector got off and was kicked and punched by the passenger. The inspector was slightly injured. A complaint was filed with the police.
P., the inspector who was attacked, said to Lai Fah:
"We are the passengers' punching bag. I politely address the passenger and he ignores me. I ask to see Rab-Ko and am answered with 'go do your job'. I explain that this is my job and I am attacked. We feel that our blood is wasted."
Itai Cohen, head of the transportation branch of the force for employees, gave a message to Lahi Pa:
"The series of cases of violence in Matron in the last few weeks is particularly disturbing. It is not enough that the OT workers go to work without access to a protected space and endanger themselves for the good of the public, they also fear for their lives from the violence of the passengers.
The pressure cooker of war cannot explode on those who serve the public. Without the recognition of the police officers as public servants and the punishment of their attackers accordingly, this will not change. We are working with the Ministry of Transportation to find the appropriate solutions."
Superboss's response: "Superboss takes the incident very seriously and condemns violence of any kind towards its employees. We support and accompany the inspector in front of all the relevant parties while fully cooperating with the Israel Police, and call on them to bring the attackers to justice."
