The IDF spokesman announces that today (Friday), September 20, 2024, under the precise intelligence guidance of the Intelligence Division, Air Force fighter jets targeted the Beirut area and killed Ibrahim Akil, the head of the Hezbollah terrorist organization's operations team, the acting commander of the Radwan and commander of the "Plan for the Conquest of the Galilee".

In the attack, along with Akil, the top operatives and the chain of command of the Raduan unit were eliminated.
Akil and the commanders who were eliminated were among the architects of the "plan for the occupation of the Galilee" in which Hezbollah planned on the day of the order to raid the territory of the State of Israel, occupy the settlements of the Galilee, murder and kill innocents, similar to what the terrorist organization Hamas carried out in the murderous massacre on the seventh of October.

Akil began his career in Hezbollah in the 80s in the Islamic Jihad mechanism, which is responsible for Hezbollah attacks outside of Lebanon, and took part in many attacks carried out in various countries against innocent international bodies and citizens.
Since 2004 he has served as the head of Hezbollah's operations, as part of this he was responsible for Hezbollah's activities in the areas of sabotage attacks, anti-tank fire, explosive charges, air defense and other military aspects.

In addition, he served as the commander of the Radwan unit, Hezbollah's elite force, whose goal was to occupy the settlements of the Israeli Galilee and kill innocent soldiers and civilians.
Ibrahim Akil promoted many terrorist attacks and terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens and IDF forces.

Akil was responsible for the anti-tank fire at the Avivim post in 2019, for the attack at the Megiddo junction in 2023, and for attempted infiltration of Hezbollah terrorists into the territory of the State of Israel, in order to murder and kill civilians and soldiers, during the "Iron Swords" war.

Akil promoted the attack on the United States Embassy in Beirut in 1983. In addition, he was considered wanted by the United States, which offered a financial sum of millions of dollars to those who would bring information that could lead to his failure.
