About 800 parents and toddlers residents of Carmel Castle participated on Tuesday 17/9/24 in a unique event, where the municipal project "Talk to me - Carmel Castle promotes language as a key to success" was launched. At the event, which was held in Nahal Galim Park, the toddlers and their parents enjoyed a variety of joint activities, with an emphasis on the topic of language: yoga for the little ones, soap bubbles, creative stations, a musical performance and more.
The project "Talk to me" in the Carmel Castle is the first of its kind in Israel, and it aims to raise awareness among educational staff and parents of the importance of oral care and to create opportunities for the development of discourse with babies and toddlers up to the age of three. To this end, all the municipal departments and community organizations, which joined the "Talk to Itay" initiative, were recruited to the municipality's preschool department and the preschool center in establishing a municipal forum to promote the language as a key to success. It should be noted that the project was established with the support of Frisby's investment committee - Carso Motors.
As part of the project, a diverse set of activities will be implemented with all the partners: training courses and programs will be held within the day care centers; Emphasis will be placed on the language in trainings for parents; Many activities will be held for parents and toddlers, alongside an urban campaign calling on parents to increase verbal interaction with their children by talking, playing and reading books. At the same time, an outdoor signage campaign was launched this week in which city residents, parents and preschool children took part.
The mayor of the city, David Cohen, participated in the event; his deputy, acting in his place and holding the education portfolio, Emi Afomedu; The director general of the municipality, Herzl Kabelo; the director of the education department, Zion Sodri; the director of the preschool department, Dr. Anat Bar; The Director of the Youth Center, Michal Alef and the center's staff; representatives of departments and departments in the municipality; the team of the project "Talk to me"; volunteers and fellows of the community relations department; women and educators in the city; and representatives of the Tirat Carmel community center, the daycare centers and the dormitories.
The mayor, Dodo Cohen, greeted the participants and emphasized:
I see the project as an expression of investment in early childhood in general and the promotion of the language in particular, as part of the urban education vision. It is exciting and happy to meet hundreds of parents and toddlers here, who are the future of Carmel Castle and the country. I thank all those involved in the craft, who are leading this important project and the first of its kind in Israel. Carmel Castle will continue to be at the forefront of early childhood education, and serve as an example for other authorities.
