A pig carcass found in the bushes endangers the health of the residents

Residents of a building living at 32 Yotam St. in Carmel have been suffering for three days following the carcass of a pig found in the bushes near the building. The terrible smell that harms their quality of life means that they cannot use the stairwell or open the windows of their home.

Atida Frank, a resident of the building, shared with us: "The carcass of an animal has been in the bushes near the building for three days, and the situation is terrible. We tried to contact the Haifa municipality, but when one of the representatives of the municipality arrived for the first time on Tuesday 17/9/24, he simply said he was not concerned with it and left. When we contacted again, we were told that someone would come the next day, Wednesday 18/9/24. The representative who arrived insisted that the carcass had already decomposed in a way that made it impossible to remove it, and that the only option was to put an anti-odor. This is of course insufficient and even dangerous to health.

The situation is so bad that we cannot open the apartment windows and it is also difficult for us to find ourselves in the stairwell. We also turned to traffic, and there they told us that an expert would come in the next few days to check the situation. It is simply intolerable, and the municipality does not provide a proper solution to our plight. We feel that there is no real answer and that this situation is seriously affecting our quality of life."

Felix Getz, The resident of the building has been forced to leave his apartment for three days due to a pig carcass found 16 meters from his yard. According to him, despite contacting the Haifa municipality repeatedly, the carcass has not yet been removed and the situation has become unbearable. "The municipal workers arrived on September XNUMX. They didn't find the body and simply told us if you find it, call us," said Felix, adding, "I had to put on a mask and suit after work, it's not my job at all. I searched and found the body very close to my apartment. I called again to the municipality, and they promised that they would send someone the next day to pick up the carcass.

Despite the promises, on September 17 a municipal employee arrived but refused to remove the body. He said the smell was unbearable and that it was dangerous and poisonous, so he just left. I can't stay in my flat, I live with a friend now because of the smell and the diseases that could spread.'

Since then, Alex's attempts to get an answer have been met with difficulties. According to him, the municipality and the relevant parties are screening him, and his appeal to the public inquiries department did not yield a result either.

No response has yet been received from the Haifa Municipality.

  1. Requesting the response of the Haifa municipality. Especially what substance was put on the rotting meat a meter and a half away from the building as reported in the important article about an alarming case. thanks

  2. We will ask for an update from the reporter. This is a serious case of helpless residents and a municipality that did not remove the carcass when it was reported and after four days claims that due to decay it will not remove the remains of the animal. one and a half meters from the building. Spilling material? What material? Please check and update corral. There was an identical case in French Carmel that caused great suffering to the residents.

  3. The main thing is to kill them, collecting the carcasses is another story... not the responsibility of the municipality that killed them.

  4. According to the article, the case was reported on September 16.9. The article appeared on September 19.9 and a request was sent to Sharit Golan about the fact that the pig was not evacuated. She said she contacted Ohad Dorfman, head of the management and operations department. A request this morning 20.9/106 to Moked XNUMX was directed to Aryeh Yehuda from Carmel Sanitation who claims that the pig's body is rotting in the bushes and the department is pouring material on it. It is not clear which substance and whether it is dangerous for pets and wild animals. According to the article, the carcass was found about a meter and a half from the building. It was explained to the hotline and sanitation that an electric saw should be used to clear access to the carcass and dig a pit. All the remains of the rotten meat and the soil around it must be removed. The person in charge of the hotline tried to request this treatment on the subject of Aria Yehuda, but according to him, she was denied. Sarit Golan and Han were updated on the treatment status.

  5. The worst municipality the residents could get. As a resident of one of the nearby buildings, who has suffered from the smell for the past few days, I already have zero expectations that this municipality will. It's a waste of time, there really is no reason to continue living in this city. Perhaps there is a reason why many young people move to the Carmel Castle. Indeed, a man from the municipality came and said that he could not evacuate, a pig must also have been shot and left to die in our yard.

    • Do you live in the Yotam 32 area, please let me know if there is a carcass smell in the yard. Does the building have a committee? thanks

  6. An embarrassing lack of understanding of toxicity and the way diseases are transmitted, both on the part of the municipality's employees and on the part of the tenant of the vacated building.
Say "smelly and unpleasant", you don't need to turn everything into a national drama and disaster.
In the end, when something serious happens, no one takes it seriously anymore.

  7. Ohad Dorfman received an informant about the case and a therapist
The residents of the building are asked to update here on the evacuation status. Do you have a contact number?

  8. Human beings are opaque and cruel, what disturbs is the smell or the fact that maybe the unfortunate man will be murdered like many of his brothers by the criminal municipality??

  9. A whole article about a carcass that causes trouble, and what about an article about an unfortunate pig that went through terrible suffering and is an example of hundreds more like this!!!
    This is animal abuse!!!

  10. I would pour fuel on it and set it on fire.
    Then call the fire department.
    This is a problem solved
    And not.K:
The police are handling emergency and life-saving cases.
    Not in poop games….

  11. You wanted them murdered so what are you complaining about? David Luria and the hired hunters drive every night through the neighborhoods shooting the unfortunate animals from passenger vehicles wounding them and they are going to die in the bushes.

  12. The municipality of Haifa endangers the wild animals in Haifa by not reimbursing the losses of wild boars that were murdered or met their death in some other way. In addition, her name is cut off from the residents who live in the city. shame
