A variety of creative workshops, an anime movie screening, a karate show, a magnificent cosplay parade and more
"Japan Day" has become a traditional event held every year at the Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art. This year the event will take place on Wednesday, 25/9/24 in the afternoon and will include a variety of activities for families, young children and teenagers.
Japan for the whole family
From 16:00-18:00, families with children up to the age of 10 are invited to get to know Japanese culture up close through an unmediated encounter with popular and high art, with the language, tradition and the Japanese people who live among us. Visitors are offered 5 activity capsules to choose from, each of which includes two different creative workshops, such as a plasticine sushi workshop, an origami doll workshop, and more. In addition, visitors are invited to watch an anime movie suitable for the whole family and a karate show by SKI Israel.
Anime and manga festival for youth
From 18:15-21:30 there will be an anime and manga festival for teenagers at the museum, in collaboration with the Amai association (Manga and Anime Israel Organization). Here, too, the participants will be able to choose between different activity capsules, which include creative workshops, a Japanese manga lesson, a lecture on culture Anime and more. In addition, there will be a magnificent cosplay parade, where visitors are invited to come dressed as their favorite character and walk the red carpet. Towards the end of the festival, a Japanese anime film will be shown - "The Godfathers of Tokyo".
"Japan Day is a wonderful event here at Tikotin every year," says Yotam Yakir, CEO of Haifa Museums, "We have invested a lot of thought and resources in order to bring quality content through which visitors can get to know, if only for a taste, the rich and fascinating Japanese culture. The Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art is a unique museum, the only one of its kind in Israel and among the few in the world, which focuses on the works of the great Japanese artists alongside contemporary Japanese art and Israeli artists who were influenced by Japanese culture. These days, alongside the excellent lecture club, the cinema in Tikotin, and the new and decorated cafe - the Tikotin Museum has become a unique and high-quality cultural center."
All this wealth in one day?
Wonderful !
Waiting and hoping for happiness and, as always, for the rare pleasure that Japanese culture makes accessible to us at the Tikotin Museum.
Thank you and blessings and a fruitful year!
