(haipo) - A violent incident involving several students from Kiryat Haim High School occurred last night (Sunday 15/9/24), at the end of the school day.
In light of the unusual incident, the school management called a police car and a complaint was filed. The incident is now under investigation by the police.
Two of the boys who were involved in the fight were injured and sent for a medical examination, after which they were detained for questioning. Following the incident, discussion circles were held today (Monday) with the students at the initiative of the school administration.
The students involved were expelled.
"We take the difficult incident very seriously"
The Ministry of Education in the district stated in response that they view the difficult incident, which is being handled educationally and disciplinaryly by the school's professionals and by the supervisory authorities, very seriously: "The matter is under investigation by the Israel Police, therefore we cannot comment."
The Ministry of Education in the district also stated: "Following the incident, all the parents of the class were informed, both via SMS and in a report at the parents' assembly. Discussion circles are held with the students to vent their feelings as well as a discussion about the incident. Also, the students involved are immediately removed from the school."
