About the association
A helping hand to a friend - A non-profit organization founded in 2001 in Haifa by Shimon Sebag, who was seriously injured in a car accident. The non-profit organization focuses on providing aid and support to disadvantaged populations, especially Holocaust survivors, the elderly, and families in need. This non-profit organization operates a wide variety of projects, including food distribution, shelters, medical assistance , and mental support. One of the main projects of the association is a nursing home for Holocaust survivors, which provides survivors with a warm home and a sense of community in their later years.
In addition, the association takes care of blankets and stoves for the elderly, organizes Pesach seders for the community, organizes events such as weddings and bar mitzvahs, and provides medical supplies and transportation services for students. The association also operates a hostel for at-risk youth, and special buildings for children from disadvantaged families that provide them with educational support, classes, and hot meals and more.
