(haipo) - In recent weeks, residents and visitors to Haifa have been reporting a disturbing phenomenon concerning the security guards that have been placed throughout the city. The shelters, which were placed throughout the city with the aim of providing protection to passers-by in real time, were "entitled", as it turns out, to be used in a different role than the one intended for them, and became public toilets in times of need.
Here is the place to note and remind that In a number of articles on the Chai Fe website, we have repeatedly warned about the unacceptable lack of toilets on the Shekmona boardwalk, intended to serve the thousands of people who walk through it every day.
As part of the preparations for the security escalation in Haifa, last March shields were placed in central areas of the city, such as the Wadi Nisnas neighborhood, the Shekmona Promenade, the Kiryat Haim Promenade and the Hecht Promenade. In August, more shields were placed in other areas, including in Kiryat Haim. These shelters, which were placed by the Home Front Command and the Haifa Municipality, are open to the public regularly, with the aim of allowing quick shelter in real time, this is in contrast to shelters that close and open remotely during an emergency.
And here, it turns out that there are those who have decided to "give" the shields a completely different use than their intended use. Residents and visitors who spent time on the Shekmona promenade, near the Sea and Lakes Research Institute, encountered a bleak and frustrating situation, in which the shelter on the promenade was turned into a makeshift toilet. During the last weekend (6-7/9/24), complaints about bad smells coming from the area came to system Hai here, which suggested that someone used the place to defecate and now it is full of excrement. It is understood that a situation does not allow the use of a shield during an emergency.
"There is no doubt that there is a lack of public toilets in the Shekmona promenade area, but that does not justify turning the shelter into a toilet!" says one of the critics angrily. "It is simply intolerable to enter a place in such a state during a time of need."
It should be noted that this raises questions regarding the maintenance of safety in the city, regardless of the public's behavior. Who, then, is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the safety nets in Haifa and will work to ensure that during an emergency we will not encounter such situations again?
Haifa Municipality has not yet given a response.
In the place where the shield was placed, there were toilets before, where did they go, why, they are very much needed, they must be returned
beasts The scum of the human race.
Because there are no toilets. And most of the entertainment is at night. very smart Let's give people food and drink and we won't give them services...
What is this place and where is this???? Why aren't shields placed in most of Haifa? What is this lawlessness when an alarm is raised? There is nowhere to run to a guaranteed place. Shame. The main thing is that the mayor promised shields in Haifa before the elections. In fact, nothing and nothing. If there are places where they are not needed, shame, shame.
Regarding public services - there are none in the city, simply not. The question for the city administration - where should residents and guests relieve themselves?????
I notified a member of the management several times, Kiril Kartnik, he answered yes, there is such a problem. And that's it - silence.
So why marvel that every yard and corner in the city stinks???
Disgusting. Install cameras and more importantly toilets on this boardwalk. Woe to you Haifa municipality and also to the Haifa mobs.
Garbage of people live in this town.
The people who screw up garbage are the same people who throw their garbage everywhere, and then want the pigs killed.
This whole city runs like a jungle
It is enough to drive at 6 in the morning in Stella Maris and see how an entire downhill lane is blocked by vehicles that decide this is their parking spot. The municipality does not enforce anything there, the traffic police does not enforce anything there.
This country is descending into the abyss, it will be a jungle of violence, ugliness and crime. It is also clear to all of us which sectors are attracted there.
