The mayor of Kiryat Bialik, Eli Dukorski, held a comprehensive meeting with the principals of the city's schools on Sunday 25/8/24, ahead of the start of the new school year. At the meeting, special attention was given to the unique challenges of the year, following the recent security events and their impact on the students.
Dukorski emphasized the importance of focusing on the students' well-being, while responding to the children's emotional and social needs. Dukorski noted the importance of promoting tolerance and responsibility towards the other and the different, both among the students and among the parents. Dukorski asked to be more attentive and alert to student behavior and crises. The mayor emphasized the need for frequent home visits, especially for at-risk students, and the provision of intensive mental support.
Dukorski noted:
We will fight for every child who remains in our education system out of a perception and belief that only in our system can we save the child. 100 percent persistence in the education system - this is the goal.
The mayor called on administrators to nurture the strengths of each student, while providing an experience of personal success. Dukorski made it clear that no violent behavior will be allowed at the school, and ordered targeted activity on the subject of the boycott.
Another issue that came up at the meeting was emergency preparedness. Dukorski confirmed that the deployment of the protected spaces in the schools where there were shelter gaps was completed. These days, the works for the construction of multi-storey protected spaces in the construction school are being completed, and the works for the creation of multi-storey protected spaces in the youth school are in progress.
Dukorski concluded the meeting by emphasizing the role of principals as educational leaders, and the importance of the personal relationship between teachers and students. He promised his full support for the principals and the education teams, to ensure success for all students of Kiryat Bialik: "The principals are the showcase of the education system, the front line, the most important link in the education system. We have accompanied you through struggles and challenges, difficulties and successes, in moments of joy and in moments of crisis. You are the messengers Ours, our spokespeople in the field."
Dukorski congratulated the new managers who joined the team:
- Leon Gershovitz - Principal of Otzma High School
- Malki Lobton - principal of Ort Rimon Middle School
- Adi Naoi Carmeli - Principal of Psagot School
What a great idea, it gives trust, security and unity to all the partners and in the end who gets hired? These are our students, the future generation and we should invest all our energy in them. Thanks to my mayor.
