The Municipality of Tirat Carmel and the Home Front Command placed two shields in the city on Tuesday 13/8/24, following the meetings held by the Mayor, Dodo Cohen with the Home Front Command commanders in recent months.
The security department of the municipality emphasizes that the shelters are not a substitute for a shelter or a shelter, and that they are intended to provide an initial response to passers-by who are in open areas where there are no other protection options. Within 60 seconds of sounding the alarm, in any case of an alarm, you must act according to the "most protected" instructions of the Home Front Command.
The shields in the Carmel Castle were placed in two points approved by the Home Front Command:
- The skatepark complex, next to the community center (Jabotinsky St.).
- Near the old commercial center (Hatzamtu Street).
Mayor, Dodo Cohen:
This is a model of shields developed by the Home Front Command, with the aim of providing an available initial response to the threat scenarios on settlements such as Carmel Castle, which are not in the conflict line. It is important to remember that this is not a replacement for a standard protected space, such as a shelter or a shelter, but for initial response only. At the same time, the municipality is working to protect the educational institutions in accordance with the directives of the Home Front Command and the Ministry of Education. Please, continue to be vigilant and follow the directives.
