Academician Gordon won a UNICEF tender to build a national strategy for the training of all teachers in the country of Zambia and to lead an innovative technological education program in the country.
In a historic move, after already becoming the first Israeli institution to win tenders from the World Bank and UNICEF to accompany developing countries in Europe, Academic Gordon won another tender from UNICEF and became the first Israeli academic body to strategically accompany a country in Africa.
In the coming year, Gordon Academic will build the strategy for teacher training in the entire country of Zambia. Also, the Gordon Academy will establish a pan-African innovation in order to raise the level of technological education in the country and on the continent as a whole.
In addition to this project, the Israeli college reached an agreement with the University of Zambia on the establishment of the "African Center for Innovation in Education". The center will serve the entire African continent, and will provide learning technologies, teacher training and teaching training in innovative pedagogical methods for teachers and educators in all African countries.
Winning the tender is a real breakthrough, as this is the first time that an Israeli academic institution has won a UNICEF tender on the African continent. This win joins academic Gordon's two previous wins from World Bank and UNICEF tenders to promote the education systems in Armenia and Georgia, in which the Israeli academic institution was also the first to win such tenders.
The positive reputation acquired by Gordon College as a result of its success in the execution of the previous tenders was a decisive element in the current win, since this time 14 other large international bodies competed in the tender and the Israeli college was selected by an independent international committee which stated that its proposal was the most professional and economical of all the proposals submitted.
As part of the project, which was awarded a tender by the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund - UNICEF, Academician Gordon, together with the University of Zambia, will provide assistance to the Zambian Ministry of Education in developing a long-term strategic plan for teacher training and professional development, including the assimilation of the advanced education technologies offered by the Israeli college.
"This is a special opportunity for us to contribute to the advancement of education in Africa and to share our knowledge and experience in the field of teacher training," said Dr. Eli Winokur, Gordon's Vice President and Director of the International Department. "We are pleased to partner with the University of Zambia, a leading academic institution, and work together For improving the quality of education for the children of Zambia."
The project will focus on developing innovative training programs, implementing innovative technologies in teaching and learning, and strengthening cooperation between teachers. A team of experts from Gordon Academy and the University of Zambia will work together on curriculum development, teacher training and professional development, as well as monitoring and evaluating the progress of the project.
"We believe that this collaboration will bring about significant changes in the training of teachers and their professional development in Zambia," Winokur added, "We look forward to working together with our partners at the University of Zambia and the country's Ministry of Education to ensure that every child in Zambia receives a quality education adapted to the 21st century. Also , the win at the center expresses the high esteem that Academician Gordon receives from the world's leading bodies in the field of education and is a certificate of honor for the college and the country as a whole. My thanks go to Prof. Rhonda Sofer and Ms. Shadia Sabith who led the writing of the tender and are now leading the project."
They fail to train normal teachers for the education system in Israel, with massive failures that are revealed in the comparative PISA tests against the world, so they are going to train technological education in Zambia?
Before Zambia check what are the failures that are created here.
