Identification with the abductees, a message of strengthening and unification
Yesterday evening (Monday 6.8.24), during the hours when the 5th birthday of Ariel Biebs, who is still in captivity of Hamas, was celebrated throughout the country, he published Parina index, space developer Mahod Hasharon, an exciting post on Facebook.
"Dear parents," he wrote Measure. "Let's make a big little gesture, that will show that we haven't forgotten any of the abductees. Each parent will buy one simple yellow shirt, on which will be printed the symbol of the school your child goes to. At the beginning of the school year, everyone will arrive at the school with yellow shirts.
We will also convey a message to strengthen the abductees, and we will also show the children how all of Israel is bound to each other. A yellow shirt initiative is underway."
Midad's request to share the post was answered by many. So far, the post has received close to 5,000 shares and it continues to gain a twin every additional minute. "This is a gesture of empathy, a small but significant gesture to sympathize with the abductees and call for their immediate release," he explains Measure and asks to help spread the post. He saw the initiative of the national leadership of parents in the Whatsapp group of the Sychemim division in Hod Hasharon and decided to take action. He uploaded the initiative to his Facebook page, attached a photo of children in yellow shirts that he prepared using artificial intelligence and from then on the post took off and "made wings".
The families of the abductees in Haifa join and ask to spread the initiative
Ora Gazit, daughter-in-law of Aryeh Zalmanovich ("Zalman") who was kidnapped to Gaza and murdered by Hamas, and the families of the abductees in Haifa, continues to spread the initiative among parents in Haifa. "We want to reach as many parents and educational staff in the schools as possible," says Ora. time before the beginning of the year".
In the various WhatsApp groups she wrote light: "I'm trying to help promote a national initiative called "a yellow shirt on September 1st, as a sign of solidarity with the families of the abductees, we call on parents, who are already purchasing school shirts for the coming year, to purchase one yellow shirt with the school symbol and for the students to arrive with it on the first day of school !!
The shirt (without the stolen headquarters or additional/other signs) can be used by the boys and girls throughout the year.
The call for everyone to arrive in yellow (including the educational staff) will be a statement from all of us, that Haifa does not forget the abducted and the abducted, and that the city in general and the education system in particular put the issue on the agenda and will not let it go until everyone is here 🎗️".
A yellow shirt for Uncle Oded and to raise awareness of the situation of the kidnapped
He also joins the reading Gadi Amichai, father of three school-aged children. Gaddi's uncles, Yochaved and Oded Lifshitz, were kidnapped from Nir Oz. Yochaved returned after 17 days in captivity. Oded is still being held captive by Hamas.
"My uncle and aunt, Oded וYochaved Lifshitz, they are one of the founders of Kibbutz Nir Oz," says Gadi. "On the seventh of October they were brutally kidnapped from their home in the Kibbutz. Yochaved was released, but Oded, who celebrated his 84th birthday in captivity, has remained abducted by Hamas for more than 300 days. Since that black and terrible Sabbath, we and many families in Israel have become the "families of the kidnapped" who fight in every way to bring about their release. We make sure that they are present in the public space all the time and will not be forgotten.
Let's dress our children in yellow shirts on the first day of school this year and call for the dedication of the first day of school to this. This is how we raise awareness of the situation of the abductees. As a father of three children aged 12, 10 and 6, who will start grades XNUMX, XNUMX and XNUMX respectively, I will make sure to buy them a yellow shirt with the school's emblem, which they will wear proudly for David Oded, who on the Thursday before he was kidnapped, played for them, played with them and read They have stories.
To strengthen the abductees and their families, a call for the return of the abductees home
Since October 7, many initiatives have been put forward by the families of the abductees and many volunteers, most of them all for identification, raising awareness, for strengthening the abductees, among them children, to show that we have not forgotten.
From this, some of the initiatives were held in the education system, in the same institutions that approved the activity. On January 14th, the schools were asked to reserve a time for a lesson on the subject of the abductees to mark 100 days to the events of October 7th, and dedicated workshops were held in middle schools and high schools on the sanctity of human life. In some schools they even stopped classes at 11:00 for 100 minutes.
On March 20, the headquarters of the families of the abductees in Haifa, led by Dr. Daniela Mazor, activated an exciting activity at booths in schools for the holiday of Purim.
On June 17, teenagers and high school students stood for the first two hours of the school day and stood by the entrance gates to the schools calling for everyone to return home: "We are creating for the holiday, but they are still captive in Gaza."
I don't know anymore, sometimes it seems to me that if we didn't do anything the chances of getting them back would be higher.
It seems to me that we are doing them more harm than good. Many who want to help forget that we have a cold and cruel enemy who feeds off our emotional reactions. The situation should be managed in a more controlled, professional and responsible manner. To help professionals and past experience. and less, political, impulsive, emotional and reckless. It is about human life.
A very welcome and exciting initiative
It's just a shame that optimism doesn't celebrate with us
that by the 1.9 all the abductees will return home
Amen and so it will be.
From our long and bitter experience of the last 10 months we learned that there is no choice but to plan ahead... I wish we would be deceived and everyone would be back by then.
It will not help. All the best to the shirt. Even the biggest opponents of the hostage deal walk around with a yellow pin on their clothes.
It just clears our conscience, here I did something for the abductees.
So what is the option? Sit back and do nothing? It sure won't advance the issue.
I suggest that everyone do everything they can to keep the subject of the return of the abductees on the public agenda.
A very exciting initiative, well done 💛💛
And in my opinion, the entire education team in the school frameworks, and rather all the people of Israel should wear a yellow shirt, it would be really perfect 💛
It is so true that everyone goes on vacations and the kidnapped are still in captivity, my heart is torn 💔
