The energy corporation revolution is on its way to Kiryat Bialik

Good news for the residents of Kiryat Bialik: the revolution of the energy corporations in the local authorities is on the way to the city. The move will reduce costs, improve service and reduce air pollution. In addition, the plan to bury the power lines will be promoted to increase the reliability of the power system in routine and emergency situations and to improve the visibility of the city.

The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and a member of the Defense Political Cabinet, Eli Cohen, paid a professional visit to Kiryat Bialik on Monday 5/8/24 and met with the mayor Eli Dukorsky and the professionals in the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.
The minister and the mayor discussed the establishment of an energy corporation in cooperation with companies from the private sector, a move that will lead to energy efficiency in the infrastructures, speed up projects, save expenses and reduce air pollution in the area. As part of the visit, it was also agreed to promote the plan to bury high voltage and high voltage lines in the city while increasing the reliability of the electricity system in routine and emergency situations and to disconnect Shafram and Ebalin from the pumping station of Kiryat Bialik when the development of the water and sewer infrastructure is closed, in order to help advance the construction plans.

The establishment of an energy corporation in Kiryat Bialik is good news for the residents of the city and the surrounding area, the plan will improve the quality of life of the residents, lead to energy savings and allow the city to invest more in welfare, education and infrastructure development. Burying the power lines in the ground will increase the reliability of the electricity system, improve the visibility of the streets and help promote construction plans in the area. Together with the mayor, my friend Eli Dukorski, we will work to promote Kiryat Bialik as a green city that will meet its energy needs from renewable and non-polluting energies, something that will greatly contribute to the quality of the environment.

The joint energy corporations will allow local authorities that choose this option to speed up the pace of installing solar systems, storage facilities and charging stations for electric vehicles in their territories. Also, the corporations will allow the local authorities to become more efficient in their energy consumption and manage it in a better way.

This move will help them save on current expenses and channel them for the benefit of improving the service to the citizen, at the same time as reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This mechanism, of establishing joint energy corporations, will make it possible to accelerate energy security through a transition to sustainable energy - renewable energies, storage, electric vehicles and energy efficiency. All of these will improve the energy resilience of the local authorities, among other things, in essential facilities required for functional continuity during an emergency, such as emergency reception centers in public buildings and official hospitals.

Burying the power lines in the ground will increase the reliability of the electricity system, reduce damage to the transmission lines, improve the appearance of the city and reduce construction and planning restrictions throughout the city. The burial of the power lines is a national project with a lot of thinking for the electricity sector, in which more than NIS 20 billion will be invested in the coming years and will allow the authorities to maximize the uses of the land and reduce the damage to the landscape.
