(Live Here) - In honor of Watermelon Day, we will tell you here what is actually so wonderful about this sweet fruit.
The Ministry of Health informed Hai Pa News Corporation:
One portion of fruit, about 150 grams, contains 45 calories, and various nutritional values: carbohydrate, lycopene, vitamin C, vitamin A, potassium and antioxidants that help the body fight the destruction of cells and the successful absorption of calcium and iron that improve the building of connective tissues.
- We can also find beta carotene in watermelon that helps protect the skin from the sun's radiation (not instead of sunscreen!)
- The watermelon also contains the amino acid citrulline, which helps the health of the heart and blood vessels, by improving blood circulation
- Its seeds contain a good amount of zinc and iron (but it is recommended to limit consumption when they are salted)
- Watermelon contains 90% water - excellent for preventing dehydration in Israel's hot summer
