The Ministry of Transportation and the Airports Authority informed Lahi Pa:
Haifa's upgraded airport takes off. The Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety and the Airports Authority (Rashat) are relaunching Haifa Airport, after renovation and upgrading of the runway designed to increase flight safety at Haifa Airport. The activity at the field is expected to expand with the start of operations of the new Israeli airline "Air Haifa" ".
The Airports Authority recently completed the runway renovation project at Haifa Airport, in order to meet the safety requirements of the international airlines and allow flights abroad and flights to Eilat. In order to carry out the improvements, the airport was closed for several weeks, and these days it is back to full operation.
The works in the field included re-stratification of the flight path, thorough treatment of the strength of the runway strip, replacement of lighting fixtures and renewed marking of the runway. The route underwent a relicensing procedure and was approved for operation by the Civil Aviation Authority (RATA).
As soon as this summer, the new Israeli airline "Air Haifa", which received an operating license from the Minister of Transportation and Road Safety, Miri Regev, will start operating at Haifa Airport a few months ago. The license allows the company to operate commercial flights from Haifa to nearby destinations in Europe and the Mediterranean basin such as Cyprus and Greece, as well as to Ramon Airport in Eilat. These days the first plane of "Air Haifa" landed at the renovated Haifa airport.
Minister of Transportation and Road Safety, Brigadier General (resp.) Miri Regev:
"We are happy to announce the reactivation of the airport in Haifa, which will also allow the residents of Haifa and the north to fly to a variety of destinations without having to come to Israel. I welcome the start of operations of the new airline which will contribute to increasing competition and improving service, and will help in the fight to lower the cost of living."
Director General of the Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety, Moshe Ben Zaken:
"The growth in the scope of Israel's aviation activity justifies the operation of an international airport that will serve the residents of the north and allow them to fly to nearby destinations in Israel and abroad without the need for a long trip to Israel. We welcome the entry of a new airline into the industry, which will encourage healthy competition, both on The quality of the service and the ticket prices."
To open a field for one company with a few hundred passengers a day at best is simply not profitable.
Let's say that with 4 flights of 72-passenger planes they will fill them, that means 300 passengers a day, it's 9,000 passengers a month, about 100,000 passengers a year.
During the peak days at the airport, 50,000-60,000 passengers passed through per day.
That is, the field in Haifa is annual with Air Haifa, it's two days of traffic in Netav.
As a resident of Haifa, I have an interest in encouraging "Air Haifa"
How do you find out the dates and destinations of their flights?
I wanna cry. In cities the size of the Haifa metropolis b
Airports operate with 20-40 companies and between 2-5 million passengers per year.
